Twilight Series by Stephenie Meyer

Wow. This series is seriously amazing. Twilight is about a girl, Bella, who falls in love with what she thought was a boy, but is actually a vampire. There is also like the entire plot and stuff but I don't want to spoil the book for anyone :) This book is so well written that you get the element of romance and the plot side by side and one doesn't really overpower the other. The only downfall (for some) is the length of the books, they are all about 400 pages and the last one is around 700. I personally enjoy longer books because that means that there is more to the story, but bigger books do look daunting to some, but I would definitely give these books a try. Stephenie Meyer truly is gifted in the art of literature and she definitely knows what she is doing. I would give this book series a 10/10 because there is so much good (and bad) that happens in this book and it really pulls at your heartstrings.

I don't even know where to begin! When the book started, it was a bit hard to get into, I won't lie, but, as you get farther into the book you can hardly put it down! I love this book because even though the storyline is not real, the characters and their bonds truly are. These boys - all of them - are like one big happy family. I love Pony's determination on how he wanted people to know how Johnny and the Greasers really were, not necessarily troublemakers, but plain old good people. This book truly left a positive impact on me and my life. As cliche as it sounds, never judge a book by its cover. I am giving this book a ten out of ten :)

I Will Always Write Back by Caitlin Alifirenka and Martin Ganda with Liz Welch

So I read the Book I Will Always Write Back  and it truly was inspiring. It's about two friends that started off as pen pals in 1997 and are still friends today. The book really was a rollercoaster of emotions. The way that they live is so drastically different. Martin lives in a shelter with seven other people, shares a blanket with two others, and has no running water. Meanwhile, Caitlin lives in Pennsylvania with running water, electricity, and more than one pair of pants. This book truly humbled me and made me thankful for everything I have because poverty in third world countries is real and threatening their lives every day. The way Martin and Caitlin's relationship is so strong, I find so beautiful. It really is all the little things that matter and this book showed it marvelously. Even through all the pain and sad and scary parts the book had, It made me laugh, cry, and be thankful all at once. This book is not one I will forget. I would rate this book a ten out of ten.

The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins

This book and series are amazing! This book is about a girl named Katniss and her adventures and struggles in the Hunger Games. This book really taught me that no matter what is happening in your life, not to ever lose who you are.  Katniss goes through the worst tribulations and she loses herself a little bit and it was okay because, in the end, she did get herself back. This book, although being science fiction, was relatable in a way. Katniss deals with real-world problems like having to be the breadwinner of the family at a young age and not having the nicest clothes and shoes. At the end of the book, Katniss is dealing with government problems because she "defied" them and that could ultimately lead to an uprising throughout the districts. I am giving this book an eight out of ten. Stay tuned for the rest of the series!
